Landscaping Begins!

Monday, November 9th will be the first day of landscaping for the Waterstone Campus. We will be installing roughly 300 trees and shrubs this week including 33 Green Giant Arborvitae with rootballs weighing in excess of 1,000 pounds each! This is the week to visit the site if you want to watch tractors, bulldozers and skid steerers. It will be a truck lovers dream come true!

We are also expecting drywall to begin this week. The insulation is installed and the electrical and plumbing inspections are complete. We can't wait to see the classrooms once the sheet rock is installed. Our teachers are starting to plan where their furniture will go! We are very excited by the progress of this week.

Glimpse:We have very nearly competed our hiring for January. We have a few final decisions to make this week and then we will be bringing the staff together for the first time this Saturday for a staff work day. We will be selecting our teams, doing CPR training and also covering our orientation materials. This staff is very impressive and we can't wait to introduce you to them. Please check back next week to read our new staff bios. We think that you are going to be very pleased with our choices.

On a final note, we will begin classroom placements the last week in November for all children. It is our intention to have most of our children assigned to their teachers before the open house on Saturday, December 5th. We realize that this is very important to all of you and we promise that we are working as diligently as possible to have this piece completed. We are holding out a few more weeks while the final enrollment is completed. The last thing that we want to do is place a child, tell you, and then have to make a change. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

***NOTE: THE SCHOOL WILL OPEN ON JANUARY 4, 2010 FOR ALL CHILDREN. THE SCHOOL WILL NOT OPEN ON DECEMBER 21, 2009 AS WAS ORIGINALLY PROPOSED FOR CURRENT CHILDREN.
